Registration for the 2017 Barrie Dragon Boat Festival is now open! Limited spots available!


Choosing a Charity

Each team is required to raise $500.00 minimum for the charity of your choice.  Please ensure that your team has chosen the charity you would like to fundraise for and is recorded on your team page no later than August 1st.    You will give the money raised directly to the charity and get a donation receipt from them for your generosity.

 

The team that raises the most money at the 2017 Barrie Dragon Boat Festival will be the recipient of the Barrie Dragon Boat Tim Hortons Cup.

Candlelighters Courageous Cancer Kids

Candlelighters Simcoe Parents of Children with Cancer

Candlelighters Simcoe is a volunteer driven, not for profit organization that is supported entirely by community donations. Our volunteers provide support for families with children and teens that have been diagnosed with cancer in Simcoe County and Muskoka. Our support programs have been designed to positively impact and improve the quality of life for children with cancer easing the burden faced by their families. All of our programs are free of charge for our families.

The Geri-Antics team is paddling to raise money for Grove Park Home. A not-for-profit and charitable Home, 143 residents benefit from fundraising events. This team is powered by staff, family members, friends and business partners and is funded through team sponsorships. Funds raised in previous years has supported the purchase of medical equipment, common area furnishings, transfer and physio equipment and more. In it for "fun" The Geri-Antics is a non-competitive team focused on camaraderie and teamwork.....until the whistle blows :)

This crew began with staff, friends & family from Trillium Health Partners, a multi-site hospital comprising of Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre. Over the years, this all ladies crew has expanded membership beyond Trillium Health but still remains true to it's original mission of offering recreational paddling for women of all fitness levels and experience in dragon boat, including those new to the sport. "WOW" is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles for women and promoting a work-life balance for a healthier community. Now in its 17th season, the team has grown to 54 members and two crews.
